Landsraad.webp

The Landsraad is the governing body representing the interests of the Great Houses of the Imperium; by large, the Landsraad also holds the highest authority in the Imperium via the Padishah Emperor.

Within the game, players are able to use the Landsraad to their advantage by voting for resolutions to influence which charters are enacted and which are not. An example of such resolution is the ability to reduce training costs of armies by 50%, or voting to increase propaganda across the Imperium.[1]

Operations and Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The Landsraad is the principal authority within the game and dictates how resolutions are passed and consequently, which factions gain more authority within the game than others. Players must build their Landsraad standing which in turn will give them more votes to use on resolutions.

Players are able to assign their votes to specific resolutions within the Landsraad and, along with the AI — which controls the other factions — specific resolutions will be passed. Some resolutions will only impact certain factions, whilst others will affect all of the factions.

Some of the resolutions that can be passed within the Landsraad include:

  • Imperial Propaganda: this increases the amount of propaganda throughout the Imperium; this increases the cost of controlling a village by 30%.
  • Infrastructure Validations: this resolution increases the cost of infrastructure by 50% for six months; presumably due to investment.
  • Military Service: the military service resolution decreases the cost of training an army by 50%, but it is unknown how and why.

Landsraad Standing[edit | edit source]

A factions Landsraad Standing is an important marker in the game and important for development and advancement towards winning the game. A higher standing within the Landsraad will increase bonuses in several areas such as: Hegemony, Votes, Influence Production, and the exchange rate factions get when converting Spice to Solari.

A principal way to lose standing within the Landsraad is to miss payment of the Spice Tax to CHOAM; as a result, players should ensure that they are managing their spice reserves to ensure that they are able to keep up with payments. Players also lose standing when they attack an enemy base, this comes at a cost of 10 standing per attack.

Increasing Standing[edit | edit source]

Increasing the Landsraad Standing of a faction is relatively easy and one that should be pursued irregardless of the method of winning that a player aims to pursue. Contributing to the Landsraad voting system each time is one way to increase standing, as is ensuring that you pay your Spice Tax. Players are also able to increase their standing by a value of 30 if they complete the "Political Audit" Operation.

Loss of Standing[edit | edit source]

There are, unfortunately, more ways for a faction to lose their standing than there are to increase it:

  • Breaking a treaty you signed with another faction;
  • Missing payments on Imperial Taxes or Spice Taxes;
  • Using an Atomic Bomb is forbidden throughout the Imperium and use of such will cause an immediate loss of 200 Landsraad Standing;
  • If a player is in a Solair deficit, they will continually lose standing within the Landsraad.
